Ninja Gaiden II Review
| Jun. 17, 2008
I actually didn’t have high expectations for this game, which is great because those expectations were not met. After the grinding “expansions” of Ninja Gaiden Black and Sigma, I knew this one wasn’t going to be innovative. Besides the bloody and blurring combat, everything else falls extremely short. A lot of past gameplay frustration, such as difficulty and horrible music has gotten better but still doesn’t make-up for the awful art direction and replay value. » read more
Ninja Gaiden DS Coming Next Week
| Mar. 16, 2008For those of us with a DS, next week’s release of Ninja Gaiden for the DS is great news. It appears that Team Ninja has been able to carry over the frantic 3d action over to the little screen of the DS without any issues. The game is set to release on March 25th.
This is a welcome reminder that the DS is capable of more than cheap Bratz knock-offs and horrible movie-license games. Having cutscenes is a nice touch - it reminds me of the old NES games.
Vintage Ninja Gaiden II Poster

I was looking for some wall-fillers the other day and ran across this gem. It’s a fold-out poster from an old Nintendo Power magazine.
Sure, we all know what those orbs are for but I love how they are represented in this poster. The entire Ninja Gaiden franchise had such a deep and epic storyline and yet, here we see Ryu cutting up oranges with the Dark Sword of Chaos.
You also can’t help but notice that Ryu’s bicep looks like a very nasty tumor.
Ninja Gaiden II Screenshots: More Cuts Than an Emo Parade

It looks like everything from the first Ninja Gaiden is magnified 100 times in this new installment. We got way more blood and gore caused by more over-the-top weapons, like Ryu’s foot blades? As silly as it sounds, these images show its brutality at work. Unfortunately, the same lame art direction is back as well, which will be another article for the future. We also have these images in high-quality, without watermarks available for download.
