Ninja Gaiden II Review

by Corbin M | Jun. 17, 2008

Ninja Gaiden 2I actually didn’t have high expectations for this game, which is great because those expectations were not met. After the grinding “expansions” of Ninja Gaiden Black and Sigma, I knew this one wasn’t going to be innovative. Besides the bloody and blurring combat, everything else falls extremely short. A lot of past gameplay frustration, such as difficulty and horrible music has gotten better but still doesn’t make-up for the awful art direction and replay value. » read more

Lost Odyssey: 30-minute review

by Corbin M | May. 24, 2008

Lost Odyssey heroTake all of the most questionably gay aspects of all the Final Fantasy games, magnify them by 100, blow it up with dynamite, vacuum the ashes, blow up the vacuum, and you get Lost Odyssey. I needed a bit of an RPG fix, not an RPG ruin. Yes, I knew it was going to be a typical Japanese RPG, but I convinced myself that it couldn’t be that bad. After Blue Dragon and a few other RPG’s, I can honestly say that I’m frightened to put anything of this genre into my Gamefly queue. » read more

HALOL 3: Thank God The Fight is Finished

by Tray & Corbin | Dec. 31, 2007

HalolThe last article of 2007 is no other then the not-so-good review on Halo 3. Really? It’s no surprise that the brothers break down one of 2007’s big blockbuster games into just an average game, giving it a barely above average rating. Inside are discussions about Microsoft’s most treasured franchise and how it spends so much to burn it into our minds that Halo is the greatest game ever. The fight is now finished and Hammered Bros. can finally raise up a tall one to the end of the hype. » read more

Aliens vs. Predator Requiem: A Hardcore Christmas

by Corbin M | Dec. 28, 2007

Aliens VS. Predator RequiemWhat better way to say ‘Merry Christmas’ then laser cannons to the face with a badass Predator tearing everything up on site. Aliens VS. Predator Requiem redeems itself slightly from its first failure by Paul Anderson with its over-the-top brutality and relentless violence. An 8-year old boy gets killed within the first ten minutes, which sets the tone for the rest of the movie. » read more

8-Bit Operators: The Music of Kraftwerk + The Worst Song of All Time

8-Bit OperatorsThis track could have easily been my favorite but it turns out to be the worst and I’m genuinely confused at its existence. What’s awesome is the heavy noise and the fast-paced beat. If you like Drum n’ Bass or just harder electronic, you’ll dig this track. What’s awful is everything else and there’s a lot of it - the MC, fake crowd roar, inane rap lyrics, and the host. I want to see the host mauled by a family of tigers.

God of War 2 Review (Perfect Score!)

by Tray M | Apr. 19, 2007

God of War 2If there’s one thing that the Hammered Brothers love, it is visceral over-the-top combat and raw, punishing violence. And that’s just when we’re drinking. But for those who still own a PS2, God of War 2 provides all that and more with one of the most wildly entertaining and thoroughly polished games of this generation. The latest effort from the folks at SCE Studios Santa Monica is easily the best PS2 gaming experience of the year to date and is one of the best action-adventure games you might ever play. » read more
