So after years and years of shame and failure, it appears that Sega might have Sonic back on track with Sonic Unleashed.

I say might because there is little most fans can give them in the way of faith considering how pathetically the franchise has fallen over the years. At least this gameplay video shows the main character running really really fast for once instead of trying to save anime j-pop princesses or whatever the hell his last 3D game was about. The furry fan-fic is almost writing itself at this point and it’d be refreshing to have a Sonic game that we could play without feeling gross.

Sometimes there are rehashed games from the old vault that make you cry, like Shadow the Hedgehog. How in the hell did this come from the great Sonic titles back in the Genesis days? And don’t say, “It’s Shadow, not Sonic.” It’s from the same company under the same franchise, it is the same. They were losing their creativity and thought that Sonic’s evil half would be pretty hip if he had a gat – yes, it’s officially a gat.
